Set in the heart of Brunswick just 4km from Melbourne’s CBD, Flockmill was designed by CK Architecture to keep its heritage with a modern twist. Featuring standing-seam cladding, recycled brick work, and laser cut screens, the townhouse development includes 58 two and three-storey terrace homes.
Beginning life as a flocking mill nearly 100 years ago, the townhomes embrace their industrial and artisan heritage while incorporating modern touches such as automated blinds. Developed by Three Sixty Property Group, Flockmill mixes industrial and contemporary styles to create genuine character and resident appeal.
Its open plan living spaces are amplified by large floor-to-ceiling windows, flooding townhomes with natural light. Oak flooring and caesarstone benchtops add a touch of elegance, with beautiful, stylish bathrooms and ensuites.
With a strong environmental focus, our building team utilised steel frames manufactured from recycled steel to prevent any steel offcuts in landfill. These light-gauge steel frames were also used for a precise, truly straight finish. The townhomes also included eight photovoltaic panels, solar hot water services, thermally broken windows, and electric car charging stations in the garages.
While a seemingly straightforward development, the pandemic created unique challenges. Despite this, our team worked within changing rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment and steady construction progress.
